Chapter
6 So yeah, the fuel line for a 968 I picked up at the dealership last week - yeah, I had to hack it up. We took the compressed fitting off the end and put them into my Rennbay stainless steel fuel lines. Next we took a trip to Home Depot, to try to figure out a away to make the K&N cone filter I purchased work. It has a 3" opening, while the AFM is only 2.5" or so. Purchasing some 3" PVC pipe, some rubber connectors, and some brackets, we went home and came up with this:
It came out quite well. With that said, we were now ready to crank 'er up. The battery had already been charging for several hours at this point. There was plenty of juice in it. We pulled the coil and cranked it up (because the engine had been sitting for so long). Plugged the coil back in and gave it a shot... And no such luck. Apparently there is no spark (we tested the coil, no spark from the coil). It was at this point where we really needed to get going back to Greenville. But I've got several tips and suggestions from Rennlisters on possible problems and the solutions to go along with them. From the flywheel reference sensor gapping, to the DME relay to the alarm (and how to bypass it), we have several things to work on come the next chapter. Trust me, I wanted more then anything to have her purring by Chapter 6, but it wasn't meant to be. It's all good. |
