Pipe dream...

We called the muffler shop bright and early, but they weren't able to get us in until 2 PM. No sweat. We had plenty of time to load Argento on to the trailer and make sure everything was good to go. Sorry about the quality of this pic, it was taken from my cell phone.

Hoodless, we head to a well-recommended muffler shop, with my 3" SFR cat-back in the bed of the truck (box in picture) and the stock y-pipe that connects the headers to the cat. We will need those flanges to mate up the new custom exhaust with the SFR cat-back.

After some discussions with the muffler guy, and some "no receipt" type of talk, we are set to go. We head over to Pizza Hut to get some lunch/dinner and let them work. I'm not going to say the exact price, but let's just say that this exhaust system could be gold plated and it wouldn't cost much more...

Around closing time for them (5PM) they called and said they were done. It only took them 2 or so hours, and they fabbed up a beautiful exhaust. 3" the entire way back from the headers. Take a look at this beaut -- the pictures don't do it justice.

So that's basically it -- it ain't rocket science. Throw a little money (that you don't have) at a problem, and it goes away. So the entire exhaust is 3" and should prove to be LOUD as well as allow *pretty good* air flow. I've been told that it won't provide enough back pressure and I'll lose low-end torque, but we'll see. If I feel like it later on, I'll throw in a resonator and see what that does.

And that's where it stands right now. The rest of the parts for the engine will come in this week (DME, MAF, etc.) and we'll hopefully be working this weekend to get this puppy started.
