Chapter
2 Well, tonight I arrived in Raleigh late. We decided to get the clutch/flywheel on the 968 engine, and basically get it ready to install the next day. Unfortunately I do not have pictures of this as I forgot to take them. But just imagine the engine on the hoist, trying to fake our way through installing a 944 S2 clutch and flywheel on a 968 engine, with a 944 na bell housing. At this time we installed the engine legs and the k-member. The 944 na engine mounts worked perfectly, and everything mated up flawlessly. The k-member took a few extra minutes to install, as I thought that I needed to remove the arm from the 2.7L engine to make it work with the 944 k-member -- fortunately I was wrong and everything worked great. It was at this time that the three or so people standing around had another beer, and we just talked crap for an hour before heading to bed. I think lights out came around 0200 hrs.
